AAW Kick-starts Employer on Campus Events with Military Might

The HCT-Al Ain Women’s campus (AAW) launched its series of Employer on Campus events for the academic year in grand style when it welcomed the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair Overhaul Center (AMMROC) as the first employer organization on September 12.

The AMMROC representatives, Basma Al Hosani and Rauda Al Mazrouei, were no strangers to AAW, as they are also AAW alumnae.

Ms. Basma and Ms. Rauda spoke to Aeronautical Engineering students about full time employment opportunities, adding that AMMROC has over 100 vacancies for fresh graduates in the aircraft maintenance field.

Ms. Basma mentioned that AMMROC offers a competitive salary package for fresh graduates and a six-month paid training programme. The AMMROC representatives also mentioned that the AAW Aeronautical Engineering students are academically strong and will be successful candidates for employment with AMMROC.

Ms. Basma and Ms. Rauda mentioned to the students that they both live in Al Ain and commute regularly to Abu Dhabi for work.

AAW Aeronautical Engineering Programme Chair Dr. Feras Darwish said: “Aeronautical Engineering students should pursue the excellent opportunities that AMMROC is offering with confidence and enthusiasm, and students should be open to travelling to Abu Dhabi because there are more employment opportunities available there.”

Dr. Feras also reminded his students when considering full time employment options to focus less on the salary that the company is offering, and search for employment with an organization that is offering the best opportunities for training, developing skills, gaining experience and growth within the company.

Mrs. Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAW Director, attended the session and recognized the AMMROC representatives for their participation. “We are honored to have you here with us today to share your upcoming opportunities with our students,” she said.

“I’m sure our graduates will fill them with a high level of professionalism and capabilities as here at AAW we put a huge effort into preparing them for such honorable opportunities,” Mrs. Hamsa added.

Hind Al Dhaheri, AAW Events Management Senior officer, stated: “The AMMROC visit was a great opportunity for our students and graduates as AMMROC delivered a full information session about their institution, and through this visit the students gained an idea about the current job opportunities in the market that are related to their major.”
